Decolonizing Research by Challenging Top-Down Knowledge Production

Advancing research, advocacy and comprehensive support for refugees and host communities across Uganda.

Welcome to NORRU

The Network of Refugee Researchers of Uganda is a refugee-led organisation committed to advancing research, advocacy and comprehensive support for refugees (children, youth and families) and host communities in Uganda.

We operate in both settlement and urban settings, ensuring communities thrive through informed, evidence-based interventions and collaborative empowerment.

“Research for us without us is not for us.”

Advocacy

Evidence-based advocacy that influences policy, protects rights and challenges top-down approaches to knowledge production.

Capacity Building

Strengthening the skills of refugee researchers so they can lead research, generate evidence and shape decisions that affect their communities.
